41 Cents for Impeachment

Mon Nov 19, 2007 at 12:48:06 PM PDT

As you may know, there is an impeachment resolution on the floor in the House of Representatives, hanging on but needing Nancy Pelosi's support to really move forward.   This resolution calls for the impeachment of Dick Cheney, who is in my opinion the true criminal of the current administration.  The list of impeachable offenses is tremendous, and exposing his actions will start to put the brakes on this administration like nothing else can.

Pelosi has said that if she receives, before Thanksgiving, 10,000 handwritten letters supporting the current resolution (HR 333) to impeach Dick Cheney, she will proceed with it.

This is absolutely the best chance that impeachment has ever had.  And with Thanksgiving just a few days away, it is vitally important that we act quickly.

Won't you take just a few moments and 41 cents' in postage, and pop a quick request in the mail right now?

Cindy Sheehan is collecting the letters, and will count them and drop them off at Pelosi's ofice (without opening the letters).  Send them to her at this address:

What's wrong with chosing a WOMAN as the leader of your country?

Thu Oct 11, 2007 at 10:24:35 AM PDT

This new video asks if it's such a good idea to choose Hillary Clinton as the Democrat's candidate for President....

Is there any reason not to choose a woman as the leader of our country? Absolutely not!

But this particular candidate, who happens to be a woman, is a lousy choice for the Democrats.

If we elect her to represent the Democrats in November 2008, she will lose.

The Road to 9/11 by Peter Dale Scott

Tue Sep 04, 2007 at 05:34:46 PM PDT

I was able to get an advance copy of Peter Dale Scott's new book The Road to 9/11 from its publisher (University of California Press) so I thought I would share my review of it here. It will be available in your local bookstores this month, perhaps on the 11th itself.

This book, though it has 9/11 in the title, is about much, much more than 9/11. The title, I think, is a bit misleading. It might be more accurate to call it The Road THROUGH 9/11 since it's really about how 9/11 was used by certain neocon gentlemen - including a Mr. Cheney and Mr. Rumsfeld - to get to where we are today. There are plenty of books one can read about the right-wing cabals that we are fighting against, such as David Brock's recent Blinded by the Right which describes his journey through the networks of the right-wing cultural wars, and Bill Moyer's 1988 Book The Secret Government (adapted from his PBS Special). But this book goes deeper, back through several decades and administrations, to examine this "deep" history of our government's leaders and their tendency to operate behind the scenes.

Waiting for Al Goredot

Thu Aug 02, 2007 at 11:06:29 AM PDT

Waiting for Al GoredotLet me put this bluntly.  Al Gore needs to make a formal announcement, and make it soon.  By that, I mean an announcement that  he is not running for President.

Why?  Because Waiting for "Al Goredot" is spoiling the political primary race by teasing us and letting so many people assume that it's still possible that he'll be in the race.

Right now, the Dem primary race has three front-runners: Clinton and Obama as favored by the media; Edwards as favored by progressives and middle Americans. We don't know exactly what would happen to the race if Al Gore jumped in, but you and I know that it would shift alliances around dramatically - perhaps enough to shut down some of the front-runners' campaigns.

Let me discuss some ways that Al Gore's will-he-or-won't-he candidacy is damaging:
